Marlena: Almost Done!
I know this isn't vastly different from the last post, but it is progress! One of the features that I love about this painting is the way that little curl juts out and obscures her eye, just a bit. In the story, Marlena's hair is always out of control.
This is my first look and she is STUNNING!!! This non-artist loves how the corner of Marlena's eye has a slight upward tilt. Having read the book, I will tell you she looks as beautiful as I imagined. Happy New Year Bridget!
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased when those who have read the story feel that I've depicted her as they imagine! Thanks Liza! All the best to you, too!
ReplyDeleteAh, now I find Marlena beautiful. There is a touch of magic added somewhere. It seems as though the sadness is fading and I feel something more reflective. Forlorn. I think it is the lips.
ReplyDeleteYes, forlorn...she's had a lot of sadness and loss...now she's on a journey and her sadness is beginning to fade...
ReplyDelete(I love her lips! Imagine how hard it is for Samuel, my main male character, to resist those lips!)
