Eggs, Linen & Glass: Step 7
I feel the need to post something... Again, it may not look like much, but I workded on the lace, which is as painstaking as the cut glass. Just so it's not the same ol'-same ol', here's the photo, too. I won't post again till it's done. Hopefully that won't take too long...
I had to scroll up and down to determine which one was the photograph. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteAw, shucks, Charlie--you wouldn't be jokin', now wouldja?
ReplyDeleteMe? Tell a joke? lol nah
ReplyDeleteNext you'll be telling me chickens have 3 legs...
ReplyDeleteYou know, I think that the lace on the table on the bottom right looks more lacey than the photo. (Yes, I saw that the black area was there. Sigh..)
ReplyDeletetruely amazing,,,
ReplyDeleteOkay, Jerry, I may have jumped the gun with the little black area--I just get so anxious for something bold when I start our.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope I haven't overstimulated you this visit :)
Glenn,You're such a peach, but could we work a little on your vocabulary--you know, maybe expand it a bit? ;) :)
Love the warmth of the palette and the depth of the detail. It's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. I think the final work will be warmer than the original photo. I keep wanting to warm up the grays...
ReplyDeleteIt's really starting to come together. And I agree with Jerry: I think the painted lace looks more like lace than the actual stuff. Best of luck with the rest of it!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! BOTH are stunning!
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I hope to make it even eggier! :)
ReplyDeleteSpectacular. I think I'd have to go back to smoking pot to even attempt it.
ReplyDeleteMurr, Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteIn this instance, I'd reccommend observing from a distance--losing one's marbles ain't pretty...
Remember--Just say no to pot! ;)
Hi again Bridget!... The piece looks superb! There is no substitute for p...p n'p (patience and pains-taking technique and precision)in watercolouring! The result "You" have achieved here indicates you have delivered all three P's!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful development and control of light... both in the texture of the cloth... and the shimmer in the cut glass. Two very different problems... conceived and carried out beautifully! Congrats!
Good painting and Writing!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
Hi Bruce! Thanks for your encouraging words! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to be honest--this one is taking quite a bit in the P,P,& P department. It seems that no matter how much I work on it, there is still so much yet to do. I suppose I knew that going into it...Hopefully, I will have it done some time this week...
Thanks again for coming by :)
'Tis 8 days later....the suspense is growing...
ReplyDeleteHas it been that long Jerry?
ReplyDeleteOh dear...I think I need a a bit of intermission entertainment. Are you up for providing a little song and dance...Oh, no, wait--you could do a soliloquy! Yes, that's what I need! It's the very thing to get me going!
